Sarah helps mission-driven organizations transform aspirations into tangible progress. With thirty years of experience in nonprofit leadership, communications, and fundraising, she can lift work off the plates of busy leaders and help set and achieve ambitious organizational goals.

Sarah's current and recent clients include the McKnight Foundation/Minnesota Climate Donor Table, National Parks of Lake Superior Foundation, Parks & Trails Council of Minnesota, Wild Rivers Conservancy, Clean Energy Economy Minnesota, Grid Catalyst, and Clean Grid Alliance.
She has a long history with nonprofit energy policy organization Fresh Energy. She served as a staff member from 2013-2022, rising to Deputy Executive Director overseeing all programs, fundraising, and communications. In 2024 she returned as a consultant to lead the organization's strategic planning process, then served as Fresh Energy's Interim CEO in early 2025.
Prior to her work at Fresh Energy, Sarah was a planning, fundraising, and communications consultant for fifteen years. She created landscape assessments for organizations in transition and led multifaceted advancement efforts including a major project to redevelop a contaminated rail yard as a city park. These experiences, along with earlier work for a regional conservation nonprofit, have given Sarah a varied toolbox of skills and deep knowledge of environmental and energy issues in the Midwest and beyond.
Sarah holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Macalester College and M.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. She is a lifelong student of human nature and endeavors to learn something new every day.
