Sarah helps mission-driven organizations transform aspirations into tangible progress. With thirty years of experience in nonprofit leadership, communications, and fundraising, she can lift work off the plates of busy leaders and help set and achieve ambitious organizational goals.

Strategic communications plans, storytelling projects, multi-channel campaigns, technical reports, integrated development/communications initiatives. -
Development Fundraising assessments and plans, prospect research, grant proposals and reports, case statements, fundraising writing and messaging.

Management & Planning Landscape analyses, program design, strategic planning, organizational systems improvement, management coaching support.
From 2013-2022 Sarah worked full-time at Fresh Energy, a nonprofit energy policy organization, rising to Deputy Executive Director overseeing all programs, fundraising, and communications and leading the organization's 2020 strategic planning process.
Prior to her work at Fresh Energy, Sarah was a planning, fundraising, and communications consultant for fifteen years, creating landscaping assessments for organizations in transition and leading multifaceted advancement efforts. During this time she served as part-time contract staff (ultimately director) at the Lower Phalen Creek Project from 1998-2013. These experiences, along with earlier work for a regional conservation nonprofit, have given Sarah a varied toolbox of skills and deep knowledge of environmental and climate issues in the Midwest.
Sarah has a B.A. in Anthropology from Macalester College and M.A. in Journalism from the University of Minnesota. She is a lifelong student of human nature and endeavors to learn something new every day.
